What We All Ought To Know About The Legend Jim Rohn

Who was the man called Jim Rohn?

Jim Rohn was one of the most influential business philosophers and inspirational speakers of the last forty years. He influenced thousands of people all over the world with his business philosophy and seminars, including me. I dedicate this article to Jim Rohn, a legend in his own time and a great human being.

His influence improved the lives and advanced the careers of other great people in the personal development industry like Tony Robbins, Mark Victor Hanson, Brian Tracy and Jack Canfield, to name only a few.

Anthony Robbins, the Author of Unlimited Power said this about Jim Rohn: “I believe Jim Rohn is an exceptional person whose philosophy can improve the life of anyone that chooses to heed to his advice. He certainly had a positive impact on my life at a time in my life when I was laying the foundation for my philosophies that is a guide for me today”.

Character and principles

One of the profound characteristics of this man was his genuine sincerity, his realness and his integrity. One-on-one, he was as humble as he was in front of an audience of thousands. He did not believe in shortcuts, just in knowing your dreams and going after them by daily disciplined action. For Jim, being successful was the result of disciplined daily action: “Success is the natural consequence of consistently applying the basic principles”.

Jim only stuck with the fundamentals and principles. Nothing he taught was new. This modest and unassuming man presented such an extraordinarily life-changing message in plain language. He painted with words and his quotes remain evidence for many of his talent to inspire others. One of his favorite quotes: “Failure is simply a few errors in judgment, repeated every day”, let me recall that we can each change the course of our lives this very day by evaluating and fixing the errors in our thinking and judgment.

It is sad that Jim Rohn died on 5 December 2009 after he battled for eighteen months with Pulmonary Fibrosis. The legacy of Jim Rohn will live forever. Jim challenged everyone he met to be your best in terms of health, wealth and happiness and to use your faith to propel you to achieve dreams worthy of you. He always led by example.

The beginning of a success journey

Jim had humble beginnings as an Idaho farm boy. At the age of 25, he was a average family man in a crisis. He could not pay his debt and he had a family to support. It was at that time that Jim met John Earl Shoaff, who became his personal mentor and asked him to change his philosophy and life plan. Jim joined the orginization belonging to Mr Shoaff and started to grow in personal development. By thirty-one years of age, the application of this new philosophy returned the fruit of a millionaire.

Jim then went on to share the story of his own personal development and advance in life with audiences all over the globe in in many forms of seminars, recordings and books. He traveled extensively in his lifetime to address over 6000 audiences (4 million people worldwide) in the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. The ripple effect of hearing him speak expanded far beyond the countless people that decided to improve their lives.

His business success started here

Jim joined a MLM company part time. He was working his job during the day and after hours he worked his network marketing business. During the early years Jim build his network marketing business the difficult way. The internet and all the marketing applications available today was not even invented yet. He held meetings, invited people to the meetings, was creative to find prospects in warm and cold markets. He worked hard and he did everything required to be successful in “old school marketing strategies”. Jim was very persistent and through his daily effort became very successful.
