How to Get Coaching Clients in 30 Days (The Easiest Way for Enlightened Entrepreneurs to Succeed)

Who else is a life coach, teacher, trainer, mentor or passion professional and needs MORE clients? Do you have tons and tons of passion and natural expertise, yet struggle to find people to pay you for your gifts? Have you been ripped off, scammed or just downright disappointed with the online marketing strategies you’ve tried so far? Are you fed up with trying to get fans, friends and followers on Facebook and social media….and know there MUST be a better way?

The truth is, if any of the above sounds familiar, the GOOD news is, you are not alone!

More than any other group of people, “coaches”, or those who value CONTRIBUTION as much as cash, struggle to find a home online. (mostly because of the get rich quick “gurus”, and the new age nonsense that masquerades as marketing mentorship wherever we look).

I’m going to give you a super simple system that WILL revolutionize your business in the next 30 days if you apply it. I don’t want you to take my word for it, though… instead, I challenge you to be SKEPTICAL, and if it resonates with you, apply the ideas to your own business and watch it grow.

Ready?

I call this entire system “The Content Community Continuum”, and it works through incorporating 6 simple steps.

  1. You need:
  2. Content (articles like this one)
  3. Character (your public personality)
  4. Community (your subscribers)
  5. Conversation (your email sequence)
  6. Curriculum (your coaching offer)
  7. Conversion (the process by which your turn strangers into subscribers, and subscribers into sales!)

That’s the whole thing…..and it works in any niche under the sun like magic, and it WILL work in yours.

How does it look when executed?

Very simple.

You create content that is designed to create a community. (build your list).

You create a conversation with your community that deepens your relationship, rapport and genuine trust.

You create a curriculum, or coaching offer that is appealing to a small subset of your overall community. (You only need to convert 2-5% of your list into clients to do VERY well in most markets…..most “gurus” sell less than 1/2 of 1 percent).

That’s it. If you write 4 articles like this one a day, and follow all of the steps above, you WILL have your first clients in LESS than 30 days…..I 100% guarantee it. Remember, this article took ME about 12 minutes to write, and I’m doing it while watching the last episode of “Dexter” in the background and eating leftover thai food from yesterday. All of this can be done 100% PART time……and with 2012 only a few short weeks away, the time to start is NOW!

The Coaching Swingometer

My first role as a Trainee Manager for a bank in the 1980′s exposed me to the traditional hierarchical management style that predominated. My manager’s office stood high above us and overlooked our working area. He had huge internal windows which enabled him to glare at us all day without leaving the sanctuary of his room.

How things have changed and rightfully so.

Today, successful managers operate a coaching style, continually developing their teams and unleashing their people’s ability and skills. Coaching is particularly effective at developing people, discarding the reliance on classroom training and putting development on the job, where it belongs.

One barrier I have witnessed in many companies I’ve worked with, is the manager’s confusion as to what is coaching and how coaching can be used as the ultimate tool for developing people. Everyone has their opinion but most agree that pure coaching is where the team member has all the answers, has the ability and once made aware, determines their own solutions. This fits very well in a text book, but not so well in a bustling, stressful, deadline oriented retail customer facing environment. Here, we want more flexibility, indirect and direct coaching. Let me show you in the Coaching Swingometer.

Made famous by the BBC, their election Swingometer found out how vote swings between political parties could affect the outcome of the General Election.

Presenter Robert McKenzie with the swingometer on election night, 1964 © BBC

In the same way, our coaching Swingometer can plot the person you’re coaching and can help you decide the variety of coaching that should be used given the situation you’re facing. Let me explain.

Below is the Coaching Swingometer.

On the left side of the Swingometer is direct coaching or push coaching, which is tell mode coaching, more one to one training than coaching. Suitable when the team member wants some help or guidance or needs to be shown how something works or how to speak with a customer or handle an irate customer.

As we move to the right we let go as coaches, encouraging more responsibility and awareness with our team member, helping them to decide their next steps. We use feedback tools to help the team member develop, we support their decisions, use tools such as GROW and head towards indirect coaching or pull coaching.

The Swingometer can swing during one coaching session. For example a team member comes to you asking for some help on handling a particularly irate customer in the foyer. It’s so easy to brush them aside and go and pacify the customer yourself. But good coaching empowers the team member by unlocking their ability to handle the situation. You might start your instant coaching session by giving them some pointers and ideas, and follow up with a question as to how they’re going to handle the customer, what are they going to say and empower them that way.

Another example is a new programme on the system. You start by doing some one to one training in the branch with your team member, showing them how it works, demonstrating. Then you might follow up with some mock exercises and ask how they’re going to use the system to help them give a better service to our customer.

You might be conducting and 1:1 with a team member to determine their learning goals for the following quarter. Here you would go straight to the right hand side of the Coaching Swingometer and operate the GROW model in a purely indirect fashion, so they completely own the decisions they make.

My manager back in 1983 hadn’t even heard of coaching let alone any other style of management. To a degree neither had we, the team members. But teams have changed in the 2010′s, the majority of people working in customer facing retail environments are Generation Y’s and late Generation X’s. These generations know about coaching or its components and seek out an inclusive, empowering management style. They were brought up by parents who involved them in all family decisions and need this culture to continue in the workplace. These generations have all the information at their fingertips they could dream of, so probably know more than their manager, they want to be able to use it practically and continually learn and develop on the job.

Our teams have changed so must we, and the Coaching Swingometer can help you determine the style of coaching you operate for any eventuality in a customer facing environment.

“What Really Makes You Tick?”

All About Success

“What Really Makes You Tick?” 10 questions you should ask to yourself: a preparation to self-improvement.  These are the “all about success” questions to ask.

Be all you can be, but it’s not always in the Army. I often see myself as somewhat contented with my life the way things are, but of course it’s hard to think of anything else when where are real issues to be discussed.

Still I aspire for something deeper and more meaningful.  I desire that my life be all about success.  I am a self-improvement nut.

So we’re all pelted with problems. Honestly it shouldn’t even bother or even hinder us to becoming all we ought to be. Aspirations as kids should continue to live within us, even though it would be short-lived or as long as we could hold on to the dream. They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks… or can they?  They say that life is not all about success…but maybe it is.

1. What do I really want?

The question of the ages. So many things you want to do with your life and so little time to even go about during the day.

Find something that you are good at can help realize that small step towards improvement. Diligence is the key to know that it is worth it.

You’ll never have the all about success experience if you are not pursuing lofty ambitions.

2. Should I really change?

Today’s generation has taken another level of redefining ‘self’, or at least that’s what the kids are saying. Having an army of teenage nieces and nephews has taught me that there are far worse things that they could have had than acne or maybe even promiscuity. So how does that fit into your lifestyle?

If history has taught us one thing, it’s the life that we have gone through. Try to see if partying Seventies style wouldn’t appeal to the younger generation, but dancing is part of partying. Watch them applaud after showing them how to really dance than break their bones in break-dancing.

Come on now – you know there is something that is keeping you from experiencing success.  If you want your life to be all about success – than change whatever is holding you from that.

3. What’s the bright side in all of this?

With so much is happening around us there seem to be no room for even considering that light at the end of the tunnel. We can still see it as something positive without undergoing so much scrutiny. And if it’s a train at the end of the tunnel, take it for a ride and see what makes the world go round!

Put another way, learn to celebrate.  Life can be all about success when you learn to celebrate blessings and experiences of success.

4. Am I comfortable with what I’m doing?

How could life be all about success if you are constantly uncomfortable doing what you do not life doing?

There’s always the easy way and the right way when it comes to deciding what goes with which shoes, or purse, shirt and whatnot. It doesn’t take a genius to see yourself as someone unique, or else we’ll all be equally the same in everything we do. Variety brings in very interesting and exciting questions to be experimented.

5. Have I done enough for myself?

If you are not healthy, how will you be able to share health with others.  The lives of those around you will be blessed by you when you are blessed and being a blessing.  The “all about success” lifestyle is something you share from the abundance of person experience.

Have you, or is there something more you want to do? Discontentment in every aspect can be dangerous in large doses, but in small amounts you’ll be able to see and do stuff you could never imagine doing.

6. Am I happy at where I am today?

It’s an unfair question so let it be an answer! You love being a good and loving mom or dad to your kids, then take it up a notch! Your kids will love you forever. The same goes with everyday life!

Sometimes life takes a rough turn and comes upon a hard patch.  You can’t do anything about that but plow through it.  Sometimes, however, we make ourselves miserable and stay in miserable places.  If you want the “all about success” kind of lifestyle, don’t stay where you are miserable if you do not have to.

7. Am I appealing to the opposite sex?

So maybe I don’t have an answer to that, but that doesn’t mean I can’t try it, though. Whether you shape-up, change the way you wear your clothes or hair, or even your attitude towards people, you should always remember it will always be for your own benefit.

8. How much could I have?

I suppose in this case there is no such things on having things too much or too little, but it’s more on how badly you really need it. I’d like to have lots of money, no denying that, but the question is that how much are you willing to work for it?

Grasp as much as you can without taking from others.  Enjoy all that you have and always share with other.  That’s the “all about success” way of living.

9. What motivates me?

What motivates you? It’s an answer you have to find out for yourself. There are so many things that can make everyone happy, but to choose one of the may be the hardest part. It’s not like you can’t have one serving of your favorite food in a buffet and that’s it. Just try it piece by piece.

You’ll be driven to an “all about success” kind of life if you know what drives you and you plant yourself in it.

10. What Really Makes You Tick?

So? What really makes you tick? You can be just about anything you always wanted to be, but to realize that attaining something that may seem very difficult is already giving up before you even start that journey. Always remember, that the “all about success” way of living is not just about the physical or philosophical change you have to undergo, but it’s something that you really want.

All About Success

How Do I Know If I Am Unfulfilled in Life?

“Duh!” you say, “Isn’t it brutally honest if someone is unfulfilled?”

They are depressed. They are unhappy. They are standing on the ledge ready to jump.

On the contrary, my friend.

They are the moms in the drop-off line. They are the dads sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic holding their Starbucks travel mug. They are the neighbors with the beautiful house overlooking the golf course with the BMW in the driveway. They are your server at Denny’s handing over your Grand Slam breakfast.

For the record, do I think that all stay-at-home moms, working dads, well-to-do suburbanites and servers are unfulfilled in life?

No.

My example was simply to say that the majority of those suffering from feelings of being unfulfilled in life are those you least expect.

Hell, most of them don’t even realize they are unfulfilled in life!

I didn’t even know I was until my mid-30′s.

I had these little feelings…twinges of “Hmm, why can’t I find a job I like?” “Why do I seem to have a good life, but I want more?” “Why am I always wanting the next big thing?”

…then the biggie came after dealing with life throwing rock after rock at me…”Is this my life?”

Thankfully, I decided to take action, explore some of what I was feeling, worked with coaches and realized that all those feelings were simply being unfulfilled in the life I had created for myself.

After working on myself more, I released the guilt of realizing that and decided to take what I had built and make it more meaningful…more purposeful.

I didn’t abandon my family, I didn’t hit the “reset” button, I simply got rid of what I didn’t like and started to add, little-by-little, things that I had always desired…and not the material crap that acted as an “aspirin” to a bigger issue! (A-hem…someone please notify the “Housewives of (Insert City)” of this lesson!).

I ditched the job that was affecting me mentally and emotionally.

I moved to a place I had always wanted to live.

I started a business from home doing what I loved and that I was good at.

I stopped settling for what life gave to me and started creating what I wanted life to give me.

Here’s the thing…it’s not always easy to do. There have been challenges ditching my old life for a more inspired life, however, I now recognize the lessons I can learn from the challenges and implement those lessons to move forward. I am smarter and tougher because of these challenges.

My family is stronger than it ever was because I am more fulfilled, and quite honestly, for a time there, I wasn’t sure my family would stay in tact.

My sphere of influence is expanding rapidly with others who are inspired and building on their purpose…it keeps me inspired during the challenging times.

My vision for life is something I believe so strongly in, whereas, years ago, I’d have a “hope” or a “dream” of a life, but it was followed by a thought of, “who are you to make that happen now?”

I’m grateful I’ve figured that out now.

I no longer accept being unfulfilled in life.

When I find an area that needs fixin’, I fix it.

When I find an area I love, I do more of it and expand on it.

It is normal to have those twinges here and there. Those little nudges that something isn’t right somewhere in your life. Call it what you will, but listen to it!

It’s there nudging you because something needs to be altered…something ain’t completely right.

Make it right!

It doesn’t have to be as scary as a drastic life change. It doesn’t mean that you are a failure in life.

It simply means that it’s time to adjust your course so you can get back on track.

It’s normal, but it’s only when recognizing and taking action that you can make the adjustments!

3 Ways a Life Coach Can Help You Turn Your Life Around

So you want to turn your life around, but time is soaring by and you’re not soaring anywhere. This exact scenario is what leads most people to life coaching.

There is a wealth of information available in self-help books and videos, on personal development blogs and web sites; as well as, through friends and associates. However, moving from “learning it” to “living it” is easier said that done.

When it comes to actually making the shift that’s necessary to turn your life around, many people feel stuck. It’s as if all the knowledge that’s been absorbed just can’t push past some invisible mass of resistance that’s blocking the way forward.

Some people struggle their way through the arduous, time-consuming task of moving through this block and making big changes alone; while many others simply give up and accept defeat. Still, there are others who seek out a life coach as a way to get the maximum benefit in a much more reasonable time-and with their sanity still in-check.

If you’re wondering what makes life coaching worthwhile, these 3 techniques that life coaches use to help you turn your life around will serve as a mini-preview of this amazing profession.

3 Ways a Life Coach Can Help You Turn Your Life Around

1) Asking the right questions.

Unlike therapists, consultants and mentors; life coaches do not specialize in giving you answers on how to fix your life. Instead, they help you change your life by asking powerful questions that open your eyes to the blind spots in your life. You may be thinking, “I’m already self-aware. I don’t have any blind spots. ” Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Everyone has blind spots. Without them, you’d find yourself moving forward on every single dream that you’ve ever had. Nothing would stand in your way, life would be one phenomenal story after another, happiness would never elude you and you wouldn’t be reading this article.

The blind spots uncovered through a coach’s powerful questioning techniques may include information you’ve managed to hide from yourself, lies that you don’t realize you’re telling yourself, fears that keep you in your comfort zone and beliefs that make your life less manageable.

These questions, which don’t have easy answers, will help you to tap into new truths that unveil what’s been holding you back. The best part about this is the impact of what comes up. Because the answers come from within you (the client) rather than being given to you by the coach, are more likely to resonate with you in a way that feels both natural and transforming.

2) Challenging your assumptions.

Everyone sees the world according to their own unique map of it, but most people assume that this map is THE reality. For every person, there is something that feels absolutely true despite the fact that it’s an assumption.

A life coach will listen attentively to you in order to find out what unhelpful assumptions you’re holding as your reality. She or he will challenge these assumptions, opening the door for you to release those that are keeping you from moving in the direction of your dreams.

3) Values Based Goals

People who consider hiring a life coach generally have goals in place that they have been thinking about or working toward. But life coaching isn’t just about working your butt off to achieve a goal. It is about setting goals that align with your personal values and life purpose.

A good life coach knows that working against your value system, or working on goals that you only think you’re doing for the right reasons, is often grueling and disappointing. As a part of the life coaching process you can expect to discover your personal values, set values-based goals, and celebrate successes on accomplishments that are in alignment with your Inner Self.

As you can see, a life coach can help you to close the gap between knowing how to change your life and actually making it happen. If you really want a way to turn your life around, this may be the answer you’ve been waiting for.

How to Change the World (Calling All Coaches, Teachers, Trainers and PASSION Professionals)

Who else want to change the world? Do you crave contribution MORE than cash? Does the idea of putting a “dent in the universe”, as Steve Jobs once so famously pronounced, excite you with power and possibility? Do you often feel more like a radical or revolutionary than a simple entrepreneur?

The truth is, working with coaches, consultants, teachers, trainers, mentors, marketers and passion professionals of all types and stripes, I have come to the conclusion that they all share one simple trait in common.

They want to change the world.

And I guess, when you really think about it, nothing great, or memorable, or MAGICAL is accomplished without great big goals, right?

Let’s look at 3 very simple strategies that are super effective for people of PASSION who want to dramatically improve the lives of those around them, and by association, make the world a better place to boot!

1 – Control What You Create

From a marketing standpoint, and from the vantage point that you ONLY can really have massive influence if you get your message out to the masses…..you truly need to control what you create, ESPECIALLY if you are trying to build your business online. That means you need to create your own content, and COMMUNITY, where your own authority, expertise and natural gifts will stand up, step out and shine. Too many people, especially coaches and people who have PASSION, but not marketing experience, will try to build their businesses entirely on platforms they can’t control. Instead, create portals of passion that you “own”, and you’ll find you will extend your influence in ways you can’t even begin to imagine.

2 – Make People Better

I truly believe that the greatest compliment a “creator”, or coach, or teacher, can hear is that they make people better. It truly is the greatest gift…..and when you know in your bones that you’ve done it well, it’s the only REAL meaningful metric by which to measure that the world IS in fact better by having you been in it.

Such a simple strategy. Pure and powerful…….and ironically, profitable as well!

2 – Believe in Something BIG

I find it amazing how many people will “say” they want to change the world….and yet, they don’t even really believe in anything bigger than their brand, business and bank account. The truth is, you need to have a philosophy that focuses on CONTRIBUTION over cash if you truly want to create magic and meaning. (And ironically…when you focus on contribution, it seems like the cash comes much quicker as a result).

Remember, believing in something “big” is not about a religious dogma, but instead…..about believing in ideas (and actions) that innovate, educate and INSPIRE those in your universe to pursue their own passions.

Coaching for Life Is for Fools

Football players have one.

Kobe Bryant has one.

Gisele has one.

Justin Beiber has one.

Heck, even the frighteningly grown-up-too-soon mini, toddler beauty queens have one.

What is it?

Coaches.

It’s no surprise that some of the best, most successful people in life (and not just business success) have coaches, but “they can afford it,” right?

Well, what about the people working a job they hate, coming home stressed to the bone, blowing up at the kids, dreading the day of the week when the bills need to be paid knowing there won’t be enough money, thinking that life has been dealt, so now it’s a struggle to get to the grave?

If you’re cool with that, than you are right, coaching for life is for fools!

But, if you’re ready to be a minority…a part of a minority of people who are abundantly happy and joyous (even in tough times), prosperous, and healthy, then listen up!

For the record, I won’t be pompous enough to preach on a topic without being completely transparent.

I started working with life, business and spiritual coaches just a few short years ago. That said, it has now become my mission, my purpose, to spread the word on how critical it is to have one.

Coaching for life is something that is so often overlooked, however, such a critical aspect of living a fulfilling and abundant life.

Just a few short years ago, I, personally was suffering from unfulfilled feelings in life, as well as, a lack of focus on what to do for a living. I wasn’t unhappy. I wasn’t depressed. I was just…

…unfulfilled in life!

Going through the motions.

So, I started reading books. All kinds. Self-development, business development, mindset books, and I started to gather an energetic momentum.

I started taking action on some things, but I was still struggling in areas.

Those areas being:

Finding clarity with my new direction.

Finding actionable steps to move forward.

Keeping my mindset in the right place when my circumstances were challenging and volatile.

It was simply through serendipitous opportunities that I was introduced to a Life coach. I had no idea what a life coach was, but felt very powerfully that I needed what he had to offer.

The experience was nothing short of amazing. It certainly wasn’t all fun and fantastic, though!

I cried a lot as I was taught to notice my limiting beliefs. To understand where the beliefs came from and how these beliefs were keeping me in the endless cycle of going from job to job, buying stuff I couldn’t afford, taking my frustrations out on my family, etc.

It was a rude awakening from everything that I had known to be my reality…my made up reality.

Coaching for life also included business coaching. I thought I was so smart. I’d gone to college! I’d read all the books. What else could anyone teach me?

Hmph!

A shit-ton!

Being mentored by businessmen and women who have earned millions in the entrepreneurial realm taught me, yes important business skills, but more importantly, how they thought, how they acted, how they lived.

That was a college education in and of itself.

Then the spiritual mentors showed up in my life.

I have learned the science of how the mind works.

I have learned to understand how I have created the circumstances, the people and the things in my life that I currently have.

I have also learned how to create better, more inspired circumstances, people and things in my life because I understand (and keep perfecting) how to use my mind to do so through prosperity principles.

My life has transformed so quickly as a result…in many different ways because I made the decision to find coaching for life…my life.

In today’s world, there has never been more cases of depression, sickness, and poverty in our world. It’s not about the economy. It’s about how we are thinking about the economy and the world today.

Investing in coaching can be scary…the first time.

Once an investment is made and that first golden nugget hits your head…the first time you feel like you’ve physically been slapped upside the head by a coach’s word, you’ll never worry about the investment again.

You’ll keep making it…

…because that “word slap” will be the first time that someone is brutally honest with you and makes you realize a lie, a limiting belief, that has sat deep within you for most of your life. The first time you recognize that and feel it lifting out of you, you will feel why life is different.

You’ll see the broad scope of what your life will be with more work.

You’ll be hungry for more of those moments.

Coaching for life for fools? Heck no….it’s foolish not to consider it.

Common Misconceptions of Life Coaching

Life coaching has become the popular method of improving the lives of workers and ordinary individuals. For years, it is used by numerous individuals to correct their problems, to achieve their goals and to boost success.

It becomes a popular byword not only in communities, but companies as well because they believed of the power of coaching to change lives and to obtain the desired goals they want. At present, supervisors and managers no longer criticize their subordinates, but they coach them to motivate them.

What is life coaching?

It is a method wherein professional coaches work with clients to address specific personal problems, personal projects, transitions, business successes, conditions in life and relationships. It is different from mentoring, therapy, consulting and therapy because it focuses on the root cause of the problem.

During coaching sessions, the coach listens, asks questions and reflects what they hear from the testimonies of their clients to formulate methods and strategies which they believed is effective in achieving the goals their clients want and the transformation they want to achieve in their lives. By working with life coaches, individuals can obtain the solutions and outcomes they want. Those who seek coaches achieve confidence, greater focus in life, greater levels of self-esteem and confidence.

Despite the numerous benefits it brings to individuals, the actual meaning of life coaching has been misconstrued and misconceived by many, thereby causing lots of perplexities and confusion among clients. What are these misconceptions?

Below are the common misconceptions about life coaching:

1. Life coaching is a therapy where individuals can rely on it for counseling and psychotherapy. – In reality, coaching is not therapy, but a method to help individuals achieve their goals.

2. It can fix problems of individuals. – It is a misconception because coaching is just a tool and a catalyst to help individuals find solutions to their own problems. It is not life coaching itself that solved these problems, but it is the person involved who has the responsibility to address their actions.

3. It is comparable to mentoring that gives individuals advice. – It is not similar to mentoring because it does not give advice, but raises the awareness of individuals on their capability and capacity to solve their problems and to achieve their goals.

4. It does not produce concrete results. Life coaching focuses on raising the awareness of individuals to achieve the results they want. It is the method of coaching individuals to plan and to implement actions to achieve their desired objectives.

5. One cannot clearly assess the competency of professional coaches. It is not true because even if coaching profession is still unregulated, one can still assess the competency of the life coach in question. You can evaluate its credibility by its experience, background and positive testimonies of previous clients.

6. Successful individuals do not need coaching. Actually, majority of successful people obtain and boost their success rate through life coaching.

These are some of the misconceptions about life coaching.

Team Meeting and Briefing

Team Meeting and Briefing

One of the areas where a brilliant leader can have a massive impact on their staff is via team meetings and briefings. This provides you with an excellent opportunity to motivate and inspire your people. Being able to run an effective team meeting or briefing is a key skill that you should develop. The format and key principles are relatively straightforward but, as with most aspects of effective communication, the skill level required is high.

Clear Objective:

You should make it clear at the beginning of the meeting (or even beforehand) what you are trying achieve as a group. Your objective should be clear and specific without being over engineered. For example, developing an actions plan to solve a particular issue is a good objective but to have decided in advance what that action plan will be is likely to be over engineered as it doesn’t take into account any good ideas or inputs the team might have. Clear objective provide the group with focus and are a tool that you can use to keep meeting on track.

Preparation:

Most of the time you should ask your team to do some preparation ahead of a meeting or briefing. As a minimum this should include thinking about issues, under discussion but could also extend to research or presentation tasks.

Agenda:

An agenda is a plan of how your meeting is to be structured. It should be regarded as a flexible document that is, you should only move away from agenda if it helps you to achieve you objective.

Facilitation:

Your Primarily role as a leader of the meeting is to guide the group towards achieving the objective. You do this by facilitating discussion and making skilled interventions. To start you should start what the problem, issue or opportunity is and then challenge the group to find a way forward by asking questions that encourage relevant inputs from them. Everyone should be encouraged t speak bu only if they have something relevant to say. There is a balance to be struck between team members who contribute enthusiastically and when this spills over to become dominating. When a member begins to dominate you can usually control their contributions by asking other if they have any comment to make. If this does not work, you might need to curtail the dominant contributor by pointing out they need to give others a chance to contribute.

The other aspect of facilitation is to ensure the meeting keeps progressing. If a contributor starts to go off at tangent, bring them back to track with a question. Once a point has been made or agreed, move the group on to the next point. If there is a blockage or disagreement, summaries the state of play and pose a question to move the group on.

Action:

Most of the time, team meeting and briefings results in actions (except where the objective is merely to inform). All actions should be summarized, responsibility allocated and deadlines agreed. These should then be confirmed in writing as soon as possible after meeting.

What Are The Advantages Of Business Coaching?

Small and large business owners hire business coaches for a variety of reasons. A lot will do this because they need to fix a problem in their business which can be a lack of sales, product quality issues, operational problems or human resource issues. But smart business owners are now hiring coaches to give them ideas on how they can capture more of their market and get ahead of their competitors. The modern business coach will have experience of where it is wisest to invest when it comes to new advertising and promotion strategies as well as advising on new products and services to launch.

When you are running a business alone it is often difficult to break through old ways of thinking that could be holding you back from achieving your long term goals. A coach with a fresh mind who can look over all aspects of your business without any pre conceived ideas or influences can uncover areas of improvement that you would never have thought of. Also they will have a different viewpoint on your market and would likely be able to advise you on how you can expand by adding or changing product offerings to the best effect. It is vital that while this process is occurring that you do not let your intimate knowledge of the business get in the way of new lines of thought and keep your mind open to any new ideas and suggestions.

It is a good idea to narrow down a specific area of your business that needs improvement rather than have a coach examine all areas of your business. There are two reasons for this. The first is that it will take too long for a coach to analyze everything and even if they did do this they would then have to spend a great deal of time thinking about how each area could be improved. The second reason is that there are very few business coaches out there that are experts in every field of business. If you want more sales then find a coach that specializes in sales and marketing. If you have some operational problems then find somebody who is an expert in that area. When you are deciding on this don’t just think about growing your business or minimizing cost as this is far too narrow. The more specific you can be with what business area needs improvement the better results you will get.

A good business coach should be able to build a good rapport with you almost instantly and take a keen interest in your business and fully understand what you are trying to achieve in the short and long term. Although academic qualifications have a role to play, experience of working with other companies is much more important. Before hiring a business coach be careful to find one that has the skills and experience that you require. Ask them to attend a free consultation meeting so that you can see if you will be able to work together. A business coach can be really invaluable but you want to make sure you hire the right one.

If your business is located in the state of California then you really should consider Business Coaching San Diego and San Diego SEO to help your business succeed.
