SELF IMPROVEMENT AND SUCCESS

Everything that happens to us happens in purpose. And sometimes, one thing leads to another. Instead of locking yourself up in your cage of fears and crying over past heartaches, embarrassment and failures, treat them as your teachers and they will become your tools in both self improvement and success.I remember watching Patch Adams – its my favorite movie, actually. Its one great film that will help you improve yourself.

Hunter “patch” Adams is a medical student who failed to make it through the board exams. After months of suffering in melancholy, depression and suicidal attempts – he decided to seek for medical attention and voluntarily admitted himself in a psychiatric ward. His months of stay in the hospital led him to meeting different kinds of people. Sick people in that matter. He met a catatonic, a mentally retarded, a schizophrenic and so on.

Patch found ways of treating his own ailment and finally realized he has to get back on track. He woke up one morning realizing that after all the failure and pains he has gone through, he still want to become the a doctor. He carries with himself a positive attitude that brought him self improvement and success. He didn’t only improved himself, but also the life of the people around him and the quality of life. Did he succeed? Needless to say, he became the best damn doctor his country has ever known. So, when does self improvement become synonymous with success? Where do we start? Take these tips, friends…

*Stop thinking and feeling as if you’re a failure, because you’re not. How can others accept you if YOU can’t accept YOU?*When you see hunks and models on TV, think more on self improvement, not self pitying. Self acceptance is not just about having nice slender legs, or great abs. Concentrate on inner beauty.

*When people feel so down and low about themselves, help them move up. Don’t go down with them. They’ll pull you down further and both of you will end up feeling inferior.

*The world is a large room for lessons, not mistakes. Don’t feel stupid and doomed forever just because you failed on a science quiz. There’s always a next time. Make rooms for self improvement.

*Take things one at a time. You don’t expect black sheep’s to be goody-two-shoes in just a snap of a finger. Self improvement is a one day at a time process.*Self improvement results to inner stability, personality development and dig this …. SUCCESS. It comes from self confidence, self appreciation and self esteem.

* Set meaningful and achievable goals. Self improvement doesn’t turn you to be the exact replica of Cameron Diaz or Ralph Fiennes. It hopes and aims to result to an improved and better YOU.

*Little things mean BIG to other people. Sometimes, we don’t realize that the little things that we do like a pat on the back, saying “hi” or “hello”, greeting someone “good day” or telling Mr. Smith something like “hey, I love your tie!” are simple things that mean so much to other people. When we’re being appreciative about beautiful things around us and other people, we also become beautiful to them.

*When you’re willing to accept change and go through the process of self improvement, it doesn’t mean that everyone else is.

The world is a place where people of different values and attitude hang out. Sometimes, even if you think you and your best friend always like to do the same thing together at the same time, she would most likely decline an invitation for self improvement. We should always remember that there’s no such thing as ‘over night success’. Its always a wonderful feeling to hold on to the things that you already have now, realizing that those are just one of the things you once wished for. A very nice quote says that “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” We are all here to learn our lessons. Our parents, school teachers, friends, colleagues, officemates, neighbors… they are our teachers. When we open our doors for self improvement, we increase our chances to head to the road of success.

Why Are Core Values Crucial For A Life Coach?

When I first talk to Life Coaching clients about core values they are usually in the dark as to what I am referring to.

Of course everybody knows what a value is, but because the term is somewhat subjective, it means different things to different people. Moreover, core values are not something that people pay attention to on a regular basis.

They are kind of just sat there under the surface dictating behavior and emotions usually without the individual having any idea as to how or why. As a Life Coach if I don’t understand a clients core values, I have to confess to not really knowing them as a person, and that is not an ideal Life Coaching situation to be in.

That is why I always spend time explaining to clients what values (and their opposites – anti-values) are, and taking them through the process of uncovering their own. Your core values are what drive you at every level and being out of alignment with them can be uncomfortable at best and completely debilitating at worst.

Let me expand on that so you can see what I mean. Imagine that ‘freedom’ is a top value of yours, and to you freedom means having the money and time available to you that affords you the opportunity to travel and not be stuck in a 9 to 5 job.

Then imagine out of the blue you get offered a new job that pays a huge salary. However, the position requires you spend every day in the same office working insanely long hours and with little vacation time.

You may well take the job, because after all, that money may allow you to travel as you wish in years to come. However, mark my words, you are going to be very miserable whilst you stay there because you are stomping on one of your own core values.

You may well justify it all to yourself because of the money, but you will be fighting an uphill battle because being out of alignment with your values just feels wrong at a very deep level. As well as values, we have as I mentioned above, anti-values. Anti-values are the things that we won’t to keep length at all costs.

Common anti-values maybe words like stress, anger, fear, worry, hypocrisy and dishonesty and hate. If any of those words create a deeply negative visceral reaction within you, then there is a strong possibility they are an anti-value of yours. For example if stress is anathema to you, then as your Life Coach I wouldn’t really want you to apply for a job as an air traffic controller. It may tick some of the boxes for you, but it is also a very high pressure environment and is known for burnout and all the stress management techniques in the world won’t help.

If you don’t know what your own values are, you are really missing a huge opportunity. Knowing your values and then acting accordingly gives you a massive opportunity to forge a happier and more fulfilling life. So go learn your values!

What Is Life Balance and Why Should It Matter to Me?

Getting a handle on what is life balance isn’t necessarily simple. This concept, after all, can be a difficult one for people to understand. Consider it as an ever-changing way of bringing harmony into your life. When you do, it becomes easier to comprehend and very clear why it matters. This balance involves a matter of degrees that can change with age and personal circumstances. What mattered to you in your 30s, for example, might not provide equilibrium in your 50s.

Now, here’s the good news: No matter your age or present circumstances, your life balance can be improved. Balance involves attaining certain levels of satisfaction in your life in such areas as personal growth, healthy living, recreation and fun activities, personal finance, relationships, career, mission and personal sense of purpose.

To gauge your balance at any given time, you just have to rate those factors on a scale of 1 to 20. A 1 equals a nonexistent satisfaction level; 10 is barely passing; 20 is perfect. The scores can be used to help you gain awareness of the areas in life you are happy with and those that could stand improvement. Striking a sense of equilibrium or striving for it is essential for enjoying inner satisfaction and harmony. Most of us typically feel like we’ve lost something if one of these important areas are neglected. Go ahead and rate yourself in the above areas. It’s likely you’ll find some factors that are well tended to and others that are neglected. Try to put more time and energy into the neglected areas to create a more holistic sense of satisfaction.

As you learn to strike a greater balance, you are likely to enjoy such benefits as: Feeling more energized Gaining a sense of fuller participation in life Gaining a sense of greater enjoyment The benefits creating a greater sense of harmony can depend on the area you choose to make improvements in, for example: Healthy lifestyle benefits might include better health and wellness, perhaps lower stress, and more periods of happiness. Personal growth improvements might give you a better ability to deal with the challenges that come from time to time.

Developing a mission and purpose could bring a sense of inner calm while also providing you with more energy and focus since you have a better sense what is most important to you. As you make improvements in one area, you might find that doing so has positive ripple effects in others. Should you have problems with organizational skills at work, fixing them might benefit your home life, as well. Focus on personal growth and you might find your entire outlook improves as you learn to define what is life balance for yourself. Should you have low skills at coping with stress, you might discover improving here truly does offer positive benefits throughout your life. Perhaps one of the most important aspects of personal growth for anyone to address involves the manner in which the meaning about things that happen to us are interpreted. These perceptions can and do affect how stressed or calm we are concerning specific situations that are occurring or have occurred.

Getting into a positive fitness routine that includes regular exercise can have very many positive impacts. Not only can you reduce stress and recharge batteries, it can also improve your overall health. Take the time to improve your diet and the near immediate impacts can be astounding. Eating healthier can help you truly be and feel healthier.

Now, if relationships are a concern, working on them can also prove valuable to an overall sense of well-being. The more you are connected to others, the more likely it is you will be able to share concerns, give and receive support, experience love, understanding and so on.

Taking control of personal finances is a great way to enjoy more harmony. Managing your finances better can increase your sense of competency while helping you enjoy a higher level of self-esteem.

While it’s quite true that what is life balance has a very subjective answer, it is something we can all understand and work to improve. The more energy that is put into gaining balance, the more likely it is real results will be enjoyed. Life coaches can help clients improve their standing and make the path to satisfaction less bumpy. The Call To Action

One of the reasons why you became a coach is that you want to reach as many people as possible and you want to help your clients achieve their goals and solve their problems.

You know that from the moment you start working with a client, he/she will expect you to be there for them every step of the way. You must create a relationship with your clients right from the start.

Lead them to your solution

First of all, you must show them you know what their problem is, and you have the right solution to solve it. Explain the steps you must take together to reach their goal, and the things each of you must do along the way. Be realistic and make them realise the road could be bumpy sometimes, but if they know exactly what they want to achieve, they will get there in the end. Remind them you are there for them throughout the entire process.

Your clients must know from the start what your solution is. Then get them involved in the process, so that they strongly feel part of the entire experience. Ask them the right questions so they give you the right answer:

- What is their biggest challenge?

- What is their No. 1 problem?

- What is their deepest, most irrational fear?

You can be their friend, but they must always know that you are the professional who gets things done. You must always be able to draw a line between a friend who only gives advice and a professional who finds solutions and gets results.

Motivate them to commit to the process

They must see in you the leader they need. If you are the specialist you say you are, they will need to know the advantage of working with you. And that advantage is not that you take care of everything and do their share of the work. The biggest risk is that they do not appreciate your work at its real value. Plus, they will not be emotionally involved in their own process, if you do their work for them and they are only spectators.

You must make your clients understand that the more they get involved in solving their own problem or reaching their goal, the greater their satisfaction will be. Once they make it, they will feel like winners, they will feel that nothing can stand in their way if they put their mind to it and work towards it with real dedication.

You know your clients will need motivation and inspiration whenever they feel like giving up. But you will see from the beginning who is committed to the experience and who is not. Commitment on their part is very important. This is why you must develop programmes, products and sessions to make them commit all the way.

Of course, it is always easier to build a successful business if you work with clients highly motivated to succeed. These are the ones who want to make the most of your coaching. They become, in time, your business card, your success stories to tell to other clients and inspire them to succeed.

Remember, use your coaching as a tool to motivate, inspire and help others transform their lives. This is actually what led you to coaching in the first place, and the satisfaction you will feel at the end of the day cannot be compared to anything else!

If you want to learn more on how to motivate and inspire your clients to act, we have the best opportunity for you starting November 14th. Fear And Motivation Do Not Work Together

The way you see your coaching and the way you react to it will influence the development of your entire business. There are 2 ways to approach everything you do: the fear that you will fail and not give your best and the motivation towards success. It is important to realise that your attitude can change the entire development of your activity.

Fear cannot control your coaching!

Many coaches, even the successful ones, sometimes experience fear about their coaching business. The fear of failure is somehow common to everyone, but it is this fear which could easily take control and stop you from achieving great things for yourself and your clients.

This fear of failure usually comes from your lack of self-confidence, you do not believe in your ability as a coach. Then how do you expect clients to believe in you if you don’t believe in yourself? I’m sure you have your own natural skills, talents and abilities, which you can use in your activity, in your programmes and products.

You must realise that, once you use your natural resources, and you create products and programmes that suit your clients’ needs, you don’t have to be afraid that your diary will be empty.

The best thing to do when you have fears or doubts is to take it one step at a time. Take simple, but very effective steps, focus on what is really important at that moment and on aspects which will generate revenue.

I know that sometimes you don’t want to try or start anything because you are afraid. But you cannot let that rule your life and affect your business. If you really want to achieve something in coaching, take a risk, give it a try rather than not do anything at all. Maybe a strategy you implement or a product doesn’t get you more clients, but at least you tried, and you can always improve it or change it. It helps you become better as you learn from mistakes and less positive situations, and this, in time, makes you a very experienced coach.

So gather all your strengths, skills and talents and set the ground for a successful coaching business. Train yourself to say who you are, what problem you can solve and who you help, as confidently as possible. Your clients need to feel confidence and authority to hire you.

Move forward with motivation

So you say you are a coach. Coaching is mostly a tool to motivate, inspire and help others transform their lives. Then why not use this motivation on yourself? You love your coaching, you love to help others and you want to develop a flourishing coaching business. You know that the road to success can sometimes be bumpy, but you cannot let that stop you.

You have your goals and expectations, so always keep that in mind along the way. When things get rough, think about what motivated you to join this industry in the first place. Never let anyone or anything influence you and stop you. Do not think about the obstacles, the rejections, the failures. Think about the results you want to achieve and the satisfaction you will get at the end of it.

Do you really want to be successful? Then act as if you already are! This doesn’t mean that you must lie to yourself and deny reality; it should be a constant reminder of what you want and who you want to be. And this could also influence your clients’ attitude towards you. If you show them you are confident, successful, that your diary is full, then they will perceive you as the expert they must work with.

Most of all, find motivation even in small things and chores. Every little thing you do brings you closer to the bigger picture. Enjoy every experience you have and learn the lessons it brings; it will be useful when you share your experiences with your clients.

Always believe in yourself and what you can do. This is something no one can take away from you, and it defines you as a coach and sets you apart from your competitors. Find inspiration in other successful coaches and they will motivate you to move on and work towards your success.

You see, fear and motivation cannot work together if you want to develop a successful coaching business. Do not let fear interfere and discourage you, and find motivation in everything you do to finally get what you want. And, believe me, success is all about the attitude and the way you see it and act upon it.

The 5 Steps To Make It Brilliantly In Coaching

After years of struggling, of wasted time and resources, you still haven’t found the key to a successful coaching business, to do what you love and get paid for it. You still wonder how others have made it, even with few resources, while you keep going round in circles, trying to get more clients and increase your revenue.

You may find it hard to believe, but the only difference between you and them is the way you perceive your coaching. They made it in coaching because they focused on the business aspect of their work and because they always have an open mind to what is new.

You still only use the old strategies you have learned in coaching school. These other coaches always search for ways to improve their knowledge, their expertise, and to implement that in useful programmes and products. Yes, they are always on a quest. They may not always succeed, but at least they know they should keep going, do something about it and try things from a different angle.

You can also make it big if you see yourself as an entrepreneur. Study the market where you want to launch your business, find all the common problems people have and then work on products, programmes and sessions which can help them solve their problems. Create value, develop solutions; that’s what you must do.

So the steps you have to take from the beginning are not complicated, but they will help you realise where you can find clients and, most importantly, how clients can find you:

1. Define your target market.

Find the clients who need your help, your expertise. Find the problems they have in common and see what you can do to help them. Once you know you have the solution to their problems, then position yourself as the person they must work with to get the results they want.

2. Find your target.

Where could you find those clients who need this solution? If you find your target market, you find your target also. Let people know you are aware of their problems and you understand them. Show them you are the expert they need.

3. Use the internet to reach a large number of people.

It is the fastest way I know and it can help set up a strategy which reaches as many people as possible. Plus, it is very effective as far as costs and time are concerned, and it opens your door to a world you cannot even imagine.

4. Create automated systems.

These systems will allow you to focus your time on real value, on “what” to sell and not “how” to sell. Create a website where you can sell all your products and programmes in an automated system. It will prove useful even when you are not working.

5. Get others to help you.

It is true that all those coaches who have made it didn’t do it by themselves. You can hire a Virtual Assistant, who could help you with the technicalities, so you can focus on revenue-generating activities.

As you can see, there are only a few steps to take, but these steps could make a huge difference to your business once you put them into practice. These are cost effective strategies you could use any time you decide to. It is time to make a change, it is time to step up and make it brilliantly in the coaching business. After all, it is one of the reasons why you became a coach, isn’t it?

Now, we have the best opportunity for you to learn how to make it in coaching. Join us in the FREE Gift Giveaway and Teleseminar Series called The Santa Coach Event, where more than 20 successful coaches will gladly share their expertise with you and show you how they made it brilliantly in this business. This is your unique chance to be part of such a special event!

Effective Tips in Finding the Ideal Life Coach

There are situations in life that are tough, and people would like to seek help to pass through these crises. Seeking the services of a life coach can help you in achieving success and maintaining balance in a specific aspect of your life or in general. Although you may have friends and family who you think knows you best, they may not be able to aid you in attaining your goals. Most friends and families have their own goal for you, which may not coincide with what you really want for yourself.

Compared to your friends and family, the goal of a coach is to help you attain your goals and help keep you motivated to reach your goals. Here are some tips which can help you find the ideal life coach whom you can share your life stories with, in order to find success:

1. Determine what type do you need – There are different types of life coaches nowadays who specialize in different aspects, while there are also those who cater to general issues of life as well. If you wish to have help in dealing with several aspects on your life like your marriage, work, fitness, etc., it would be a good choice to hire a general coach. However, if you want a specific aspect addressed, then you can get a life coach who specializes on that aspect.

2. Choose a coach who has a certification – When it comes to coaching, it is deemed to be a career which requires the life coach to have a specific set of skills and follow professional practices and standards. There is a great number of coaches who are self-proclaimed. They may or may not have the skill set necessary to help you, so don’t take the gamble. Before picking a life coach, make sure that you check if he/she had formal training, most preferably from an accredited institution.

3. Try asking someone for a referral - You can always search for a life coach through the internet, but if you can find someone who can refer you to a great coach, much better. If the referring client is satisfied with the services of the life coach, this indicates that the services the coach offer must be effective. However, you should make sure that the referring individual has received the service himself.

4. Have varying options before choosing – Just like getting new furniture or an insurance policy, it is best that you have explored different options before choosing a coach. Don’t get tempted in hiring the first coach that you meet. Try to meet several others and compare their certifications, previous works, etc.

5. Ask for a consultation first before agreeing to sign up with a coach - This is very important, especially if it’s your first time on seeking the services of a life coach and you don’t have any idea what to expect. By having a consultation prior to deciding if you will or will not sign up, you can meet with the coach and determine whether his or her personality fits yours. This is important, since the success in achieving your goals also depends on your compatibility with your life coach and how well he/she can help you become motivated in achieving them.
